Clarkson Boys 92 in Uruguay

10/18/2009, 7:07pm (EDT)
By Clarkson Soccer Mississauga
Tristan Grant , Anthony Papaterpos, Lucas Cavallini, Jonathan Osorio and Joshua Portillo (left to right) are the players that left Toronto on Monday October 5th to train and play for one of the most prestigious Professional soccer clubs in South America, Club Nacional de Footbal of Uruguay.  To learn more about this prestigious club and its soccer history, go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_Nacional_de_Football.  These players will be on the UNDER 17 Academy team.  The players were scoutted by the Nacional Club Academy coaching staff last year when CSSC B-1992 made a trip to South America to play exhibition games in October 2008, in Uruguay and Argentina.  More recently, the Clarkson Friendship Cup took place in Toronto (August 2009), organized by CSSC - with our special guests, The Club Nacional de Football.

The opportunity these fine young players have been given is the result of the affiliation and strong relationship between CSSC and the South American club.  It will give the CSSC and the Canadian soccer community a chance to connect with the top-level competitive soccer around the world and also give youth players real opportunities to fulfill their dreams with the chance of one day playing professional soccer.

This is an amazing opportunity for our soccer commumity and we feel very proud to give this chance to committed players, players that play at the top level in their age group in Ontario; an opportunity that they unfortunately can't find today in our own country.

Good luck boys, we know you will make the Canadian soccer community proud with your performance.

Thank you.
