Clarkson Soccer Academy 2008
As announced at its November 2006 Annual General Meeting, the Clarkson Sheridan Soccer Club will be launching the Clarkson Soccer Academy, a new, club-managed program designed to provide elite-level training to our elite-level athletes. Included in the Academy program will be conditioning, technical training, summer camps, and other development modalities and channels.
The Club will direct and administer the Academy, which has been created in response to a recognized need for the provision of this type of development structure to our most skilled athletes. The three main areas of development are as follows:
- U7, U8 and U9 winter and summer development programs
- Elite summer soccer camps
- Elite conditioning and technical training
Under the direction of both the Director of Training and the newly appointed Technical Director Club coaches will execute the training and development sessions. A thorough and careful selection process has ensured that only our best and most committed coaches are in place to work with players who display the most potential.
The establishment of the Clarkson Soccer Academy will ensure that the CSSC maintains its leadership position within the community of Clubs across the country when it comes to providing opportunity for player development. In addition, constructing our program in this way will allow the Club, and ultimately each individual team, to realize cost efficiencies, as well as reaching a larger number of elite players.
We have started the new season with the Elite Conditioning and Technical Training programs, along with winter U7, U8 & U9 Development programs. We will be offering Elite Soccer Camps and summer U7, U8 & U9 Development programs. Details of these programs will be posted on the Clarkson Sheridan Soccer Club website as they become available.
The Club’s investment in the Academy approach will pay off in the future as we see our young players given the solid foundation they need to succeed in this great game at it’s highest levels. You will recall that 2006 was the 35th anniversary of the Clarkson Sheridan Soccer Club to this Clarkson Soccer Academy will be a cornerstone of soccer in our community for the next 35 years, and beyond.
